New group of IPPCC Scholarship Recipients honoured in Monaco
On Thursday November 7th, in the presence of the Sovereign Prince, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation held its 17th annual Awards Ceremony for Planetary Health in the Salle Garnier at the Monte-Carlo Opera House.

The evenings programme also included the 7th round of awards ceremony for the biennial IPCC Scholarships.

The IPCC Scholarship Programme, supported by the FPAII and in partnership with the Cuomo Foundation, provides scholarships for PhD students from developing countries to conduct research that enhances the understanding of the scientific basis of climate change risks, potential impacts, and adaptation and mitigation options.

Seeing personally what the Cuomo Foundation is doing is very motivational. You are working towards changing peoples' lives. You are touching peoples' lives. I am personally very touched and inspired to see such philanthropic activities being carried out with such zeal and inspiration with such a wonderful team. I will always remain indebted to the Cuomo Foundation forever and it will be an honour for me to give back in any way possible.
-Tashi Dorji (Bhutan)

The Cuomo Foundation selected and is funding four new recipients from the 2023/25 batch of 24 scholars. These four young talented scientists, representing Bhutan, Brazil, India and Peru, are conducting research that is essential for addressing the challenges of climate change in their respective countries.

I feel very honoured by all the support the Foundation is offering us, and I am excited about the impactful results we can achieve from this partnership.
